    Responsibilities

    Reporting directly to and under the supervision of the Director, Parking and Transportation Services, the Parking Manager is responsible for the day-to-day parking field operations, special events, and parking personnel supervision. The incumbent supervises the parking enforcement officers through a day and night parking officer lead; plans, organizes and manages overall field operations including parking services and enforcement functions such as: parking citations and traffic control. This includes parking enforcement officer services and enforcement and operation of lots and structures.
    • Manages, oversees, handles some disciplinary action, schedules professional development, training and performance evaluations for designated staff. This position will work closely with the Director of Parking & Transportation, the DPS Manager of Administrative Services, and CSUN Human Resources on matters related to personnel management, university orientation, and discipline procedures. This person will screen job applications for open positions, participate as a interview committee member, and recommend candidates to the Parking and Transportation Director.
    • The Parking Manager is expected to have excellent customer service skills in order to develop and maintain relationships. This position will solicit feedback for improving services from customers and campus community stakeholders. Activities include: ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operations functions; developing, communicating and maintaining guidelines and procedures to support the functions of parking operations; determine enforcement priorities and work with appropriate leads and/or the Special Event Coordinator to deploy field personnel accordingly. This position will act as administrator in charge in the absence of the Parking and Transportation Director.

    Qualifications
    • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
    • Equivalent to two years of progressively responsible administrative/supervisory experience preferably with a large public or private university.
    • Parking industry experience desirable. Experience in personnel and bargaining unit issues highly desired.

    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively handle customer service issues and present information and respond to questions from customers, and the general public.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Strong organizational and time management skills to maintain multiple responsibilities.
    • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a frequently changing environment. Ability to train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate subordinates. Strong knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office.
    • Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership.
    • Lead varying initiatives through a collaborative, service-oriented and communicative approach.
    • Demonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals.


    Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
    • Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. The University offers excellent fringe benefits.
    • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $80,000 - $95,000 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
    • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
