    Job Summary

    Salary:

    $15 - $16 Hourly

    Nature of Work:

    We are seeking energetic Recreation Workers to assist with game-day operations to provide an enjoyable and safe sporting experience for middle school aged youth, while they learn individual and team skills, sportsmanship and overall skill development. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter that will continually improve and stimulate growth in sports programs so that they are responsive to the needs of customers. This position will require evening and weekend work.

    Examples of Duties

    - Build relationships with players, parents, and coaches while making sure that the instructional aspects of the athletics guidelines are delivered in a respectful and safe manner

    • Coach an assigned group of youth with emphasis on skill development, player safety, sportsmanship and overall enjoyment for the sport.

    • Preside and possibly lead team activities including all scheduled team practices and games (Reference Team Sideline)

    • Responsible for all team equipment and jerseys.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Currently attending high school, graduation from a high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma. Must be 16 years of age or older. Some knowledge or experience in an organized educational, recreation or leisure services field working in various activities such as educational programs, youth sports, aquatics, cultural and therapeutic arts, health and fitness, community centers, etc. preferred. Applicant must possess a valid Florida driver’s license or state ID. First Aid/CPR certification preferred. Certification by the Florida Recreation and Park Association desired, but not required. Must have a reliable form of transportation. Must be reachable by phone or email.

    THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
