    Position Description

    Tacoma Power's Transmission & Distribution (T&D) division is looking for an experienced compliance professional to assist the Senior System Operations Manager and Operations Supervisor’s with ensuring ongoing compliance with NERC Operations & Planning (O&P) and WECC standards.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Continuously monitor changes in standards, report impact of changes, and provide recommendations to leadership throughout the organization up to and including the executive level;
    • Draft Reliability Standard Audit Worksheet (RSAW) narratives and compile compliance evidence, update evidence annually, in preparation for audit cycles, and as changes occur and present compliance evidence and findings to internal and external audit teams;
    • Develop and utilize document management systems to perform editing, tracking, and reporting of procedural documentation required for critical operations;
    • Review all critical operating procedures for accuracy and relevance on an ongoing basis;
    • Recommend or provide draft revisions to leadership up to and including the executive level based on operational and compliance requirements'
    • Assist the System Operations Training Coordinator with administering the Dispatcher Candidate Training Program and Continuing Education Program for System Operations personnel;
    • Assist with maintenance of NERC CEH Training Accreditation and NERC Individual Learning Applications;
    • Compile and update training records and materials within the Quality Training Systems (QTS) Database in accordance with NERC PER-005 compliance requirements;
    • Coordinate training activities among various internal and external work groups and facilitate associated meetings;
    • Develop and present reports to leadership up to and including the executive level.


    Qualifications

    Minimum Education*
    Bachelor's degree in business administration, records and information management or directly related field.

    Minimum Experience*
    2 years experience in an electric utility that includes experience with NERC standards and/or audits or cybersecurity.

    *Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education

    Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
    Background check required to meet cybersecurity requirements.

    Other Employment Information

    Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

    Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.

    Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
