    The Position

    Fleet Service Workers service vehicles and/or light, medium, and heavy construction and maintenance equipment, perform preventive maintenance, issue vehicles to employees, and perform basic diagnostic and repair work.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

    PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-06, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31st. This position is located within the Equipment Division servicing fleet vehicles in the Las Vegas area. The incumbent is responsible for servicing vehicles and/or light, medium, and heavy construction and maintenance equipment. The incumbent is responsible for tire repair and/or replacement on medium /heavy size trucks. The incumbent is also expected to perform diagnostics and repairs on NDOT equipment. And will assist Mechanics with repairs when needed.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of experience which included diagnosing and performing basic vehicle/equipment repairs and adjustments; performing preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles/equipment; and maintaining vehicle/equipment records and reports; OR one year of experience as a Fleet Service Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes This position requires an applicant be at least 18 years of age upon application. Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. In addition, federal law required random testing for controlled substances during employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
