    The Position

    Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

    Clinical Social Worker 3's function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action OR function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the hiring agency. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for Clinical Social Worker III that will be located at the Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC), a 64-bed staff secure facility for male and female youth ages 12 to 18 located in Elko Nevada. This position will carry a smaller caseload as well as provide direct supervision to the other Mental Health Counselors on site. The Cli

    nical Social Worker III provides supervision and oversight to Mental Health Counselors and Substance Abuse Counselors at NYTC. This position will train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action; The CSW III provides training and oversight to MHC's completing diagnostic mental health, substance use disorder evaluations, and clinically indicated treatment and may also be asked to assist in the development of policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the facility. This Clinical Social Worker III position will serve as the Clinical Team Supervisor for the Nevada Youth Training Center. As the Clinical Team Supervisor at NYTC this position will be responsible for working with Medical Staff, the facility Psychiatrist and the other Administration at NYTC to best support the youth and facility behavioral programming. In addition, this position will provide reports and data in several meetings related to leadership and quality assurance/ improvement.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers, and one year of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting. Special Notes Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.

    Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
