    Position Description

    The City of Tacoma’s Information Technology Department is seeking an Integration Developer with experience on the various process integration development for a permanent, full-time position with the SAP development team.

    This individual will use various tools and techniques to build effective enterprise integration solutions that are critical to continued business success. In this position, you will work on various aspects of SOA, build and support SOAP, OData and REST-based services, and implement flat-file integrations and other types of data movement. The individual also should have experience in developing and supporting ABAP based programs in a S/4 HANA development environment.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Implement enterprise integrations using the appropriate integration model that result in scalable, flexible, and highly available solutions that perform well under high traffic.
    • Secure the movement of sensitive information in a manner consistent with company policy and management expectations, including proper securing of data in motion.
    • Control integration quality and develop ways to detect and correct anomalies.
    • Work on Enterprise Interface Builder for both Inbound and Outbound integrations.
    • Monitor integrations and properly alert colleagues and customers when processes fail or are experiencing degraded performance; build solutions that can and do recover gracefully from interruptions in connectivity.
    • Support production applications and assist other project teams with their solution development.
    • Experience coordinating interface design with multiple business analysts and business users.
    • Establish and follow integration development standards
    • Build and support ABAP programs.

    This position is covered by a Labor Agreement between the City of Tacoma and Local 120. New employees must successfully complete a nine-month probationary period prior to obtaining permanent status in this classification. Appointment is subject to passing a background check.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Equivalent combination to: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or a related field with five years professional experience as a software developer or equivalent position. Has successfully worked in small to medium application development teams.

    Desired qualifications:
    Experience with working on SAP PI/PO/BTP platforms and experience with ABAP development language.
    Desired certifications include: Archimate, ITIL

    Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

    Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
