    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY
    The Lead Meter Data Management System (MDMS) Specialist is a member of the SAWS ConnectH2O Operations team and the meter data management system (MDMS) subject matter expert for SAWS. The Lead collaborates regularly with MDMS vendor, consultants, and other SAWS resources to monitor system performance and to resolve issues impacting customer accounts.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Acts as subject matter expert for MDMS platform suite of modules.
    • Responsible for assigning and maintaining security roles for SAWS personnel as requested.
    • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of MDMS reports and creation of new reports.
    • Responsible for ongoing maintenance of the MDMS VEE rules engine and creation of new VEE Rules.
    • Responsible for acceptance testing of new MDMS software, reports and system configurations.
    • Develops collaborative working relationship with and supports fellow AMI Operations team members.
    • Communicates within the AMI Operations team and to management about the ongoing operational state of the MDMS.
    • Identifies performance anomalies and/or negative trends in the AMI system based on the MDMS Service Level Requirements (SLR) and works with the AMI Lead Head End Solution Operations Specialist to resolve any issues.
    • Identifies performance anomalies and/or negative trends in the MDMS system based on the SmartWorks agreed upon Service Level Requirements (SLR) and initiates investigative action to resolve any issues.
    • Monitors the daily delivery of billing determinants to the SAWS CIS.
    • Monitors the daily delivery of consumption data to the SAWS SCP.
    • Coordinates all disaster recovery efforts between SAWS, MDMS vendor, and CPSE (as needed).
    • Proactively seeks opportunities to gain a better understanding of the operation of the MDMS System and to translate the benefits of the MDMS to day-to-day operations.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    DECISION MAKING
    • Reports to ConnectH2O Operations Manager.
    • Works under limited supervision.


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Associate's Degree in a relevant field of study from an institution accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
    • 5 years’ experience manipulating and analyzing large amounts of data.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • 5 years’ experience with INFOR and other SAWS IS applications.


    JOB DIMENSIONS
    • Demonstrated ability to develop expertise in new systems and business processes.
    • Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal management and communications skills.
    • Ability to self-direct and operate autonomously.
    • Ability to successfully complete SmartWorks Compass training.
    • Working knowledge of SAWS meter operations field practices.
    • Working knowledge of SAWS customer services practices.
    • Skill with Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
    Physical requirements include lifting up to 20 pounds. Subject to sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time. Requires visual acuity, speech and hearing. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with possible field visits to project sites, vendor meetings and/or other Service Centers. May operate a company or personal vehicle to conduct site visits.

    May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule such as nights and weekends.
