    Pay Range: $ 59,984 - $77,979 annual compensation

    Workdays & Hours: Varies with season of the year, position will require working some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    A Head Golf Professional job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department -The Parks & Recreation Department maintains more than 200 parks and public spaces citywide as well as providing recreational activities and educational programming that makes Fort Worth a great place to live, work and play.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Administration, Golf Course Management, or a related field
    • Three years of increasing responsible experience as a golf professional, including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
    • Valid Texas driver's license.
    • Possession of an appropriate Professional Golf Association of America, Class “A” certification.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Current member in good standing of the PGA of America
    • Budget experience
    • Previous management experience at a public/municipal golf facility.
    • Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

    The Head Golf Professional job responsibilities include:
    • The duties of the Golf Professional will be to supervise staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations ensuring staff is trained, ensuring employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
    • The position will manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities for assigned golf programs; recommends and administers policies and procedures; monitors and evaluates the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned golfing programs, and works with employees on the continuous improvement of golf facility services.
    • Additional duties will be to manage the marketing, displaying and selling of golf equipment, merchandise, and supplies, and maintains accurate inventory records, coordinates a range of activities designed to promote and encourage golf course play and a greater understanding of the game; provides lessons to interested individuals; conducts various golf tournaments and league play; and prepares lectures and informational meetings.
    • The position will develop and oversee the implementation of the Pro Shop and Snack Shop annual budget for the golf course.
    • Participates in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; and monitors expenditures; oversees the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the golf shop.
    • Works with division administration to market and advertise services provided by golf course and implement new promotions to increase revenue and course awareness.
    • Track and analyze data including rounds, revenues, and expenditures and implement strategies to achieve more favorable results in each area.

    Benefits That Are Well Worth It

    Medical Program

    The City offers two plan options through Meritain Health, an Aetna company.

    The Health Center Plan – Offers employees and their family’s

    primary health care services that are 100% completely free and unlimited. Employees can visit any one of the three City of Fort Worth Employee Health Centers and receive guaranteed same or next day appointments for sick visits. Also, services are available at any one of the five satellite locations that serves employees across the city.

    The Consumer Choice Plan – Is offered to employees at no cost or low monthly premiums to cover eligible dependents and provides the financial benefits of a Health Savings Account (HSA).

    • Preventative services are covered at 100% on both plans.
    • Prescription Drug coverage including mail order pharmacy are also included.

    Vacation

    Eligible for 3 weeks of vacation: After successful completion of probationary period (usually
    6 months), employees may take time off for rest, relaxation, vacation, illness, religious observances, and personal business.

    Holidays

    Available on the first day of employment, the city provides employees with paid holidays, including two personal holidays.

    Wellness Program

    The city’s Healthy Challenge Wellness Program rewards all full-time, benefit-eligible employees on the city’s health insurance. The Healthy Challenge Program utilizes a points system. Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward. By participating, individuals can earn $150, $200 or $250 by accumulating program points.
