    Position Summary

    Join SDSU as a Philanthropic Digital Marketing Analyst and help shape the future of our giving initiatives!

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Effective Communication: Facilitate clear and engaging communication about SDSU's brand to potential and existing annual fund donors.
    • Strategic Collaboration: Work with campus partners to develop innovative strategies that align with SDSU's goals and values.
    • Project Coordination: Manage project timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure the successful execution of partnership initiatives.
    • Digital Campaign Execution: Lead digital solicitation, engagement, and stewardship tactics to support annual giving efforts and establish recent graduate giving strategies.
    • Campaign Development: Oversee the planning, launch, and reporting of initiatives such as the SDSU Day of Giving and recent graduate philanthropy outreach, utilizing various digital platforms including email, social media, and mobile applications.

    Position Information
    • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
    • This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
    • Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
    • This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

    Department Summary

    University Relations and Development (URAD) advances SDSU’s mission through strategic priorities like becoming a premier public research university, fostering resilience, promoting equity and inclusion, and centering students.

    URAD builds lasting relationships with alumni, parents, donors, students, and the community to generate private support for diverse programs. It offers services in stewardship, events, gift administration, and communications.

    In 2023-2024, URAD raised $131.9M, awarded 2,251 scholarships, and welcomed 5,006 first-time donors. The latest fundraising success can be credited to the university’s goal of building a world-class university campus, research center, and multi-use stadium in Mission Valley; all serving higher education, the public good, and the community’s goals and aspirations.

    Education and Experience

    Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

    Key Qualifications
    • Experience in fundraising or annual giving, preferably within an educational or nonprofit setting.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
    • Knowledge of marketing and fundraising best practices, including understanding donor behavior.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
    • Strong skills in project management.

    Licenses/Certifications Required

    Valid California driver’s license within 10 days of hire.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,000 per month.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,598 - $8,318 per month.
