ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Real Property Management Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Permit Coordinator position. As a member of our team, you will coordinate with and maintain liaison with representatives of County internal teams and departments, other public planning and development agencies, utilities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction regarding project entitlement, utilities and permit review and approval statuses and progress. The ideal candidate will serve on a variety of committees and task forces related to the projects to which assigned, track a portfolio of department project costs, scheduling timelines and overall progress for purposes of avoiding scheduling conflicts and cost overruns. Candidate will maintain accurate records and files for entitlement, utility and permits for all department projects to ensure timely submissions, reviews and approvals, acts as a liaison between the department and other agencies to facilitate expedited entitlement, utility and permit approvals, facilitates and attends agency meetings for all items related to entitlements, utilities and permits. Candidate will provide input to the team for determining the entitlements, land use, utility, deed, lease, and code restraints of a particular projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Engineering, Planning or a field related to the work AND three (3) years of full-time professional experience in coordinating, administering and facilitating major public works, engineering or similar projects. Experience in coordinating, administering and facilitating major public works, engineering or similar projects may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years. All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application.

Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES- Coordinates with and maintains liaison with representatives of County departments, other public planning and development agencies, utilities and private developers regarding major public works project status and progress and to minimize project conflicts.
- Makes presentations and provides information to the public, community and business organizations and other interested groups regarding major public works projects; responds to questions and resolves complaints regarding such matters and property acquisition, mitigation plans and project time frames and construction processes.
- Negotiates and administers contracts for professional services relating to property acquisition and management; personally performs the more sensitive or complex property acquisitions related to the assigned projects.
- Prepares draft legislation, policies, procedures and Board of Commissioner's agenda items as required to facilitate project objectives and progress; presents oral and written testimony before various legislative bodies in support of proposed legislation.
- Prepares and submits specific mitigation plans for projects; presents such plans to concerned individuals and groups.
- Serves on a variety of committees and task forces related to the projects to which assigned.
- Tracks project costs, scheduling and progress for purposes of avoiding scheduling conflicts and recommending bonding and other financing alternatives.
- Maintains accurate records and files; prepares a variety of correspondence, policies, procedures and other written materials.
- Directs the work of office or technical support staff on a project or day-to-day basis.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Participates in the selection of project design and construction administration consultants.
- Uses a variety of standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; may drive a County or personal motor vehicle to attend meetings and inspect work sites.
