Job Summary The Assistant Registrar - Transfer Credit organizes, plans, and directs the work of the Transfer Credit Unit under the general direction of the Associate Registrar, Eval & Grad. The Assistant Registrar is responsible for assuring the accurate and timely processing of transfer credit for both new and continuing students, supporting the reporting and the identification of discrepancies within the system, coordinating efforts to improve the transfer credit process. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
Key Responsibilities - Plan, organize, and oversee the workflow of the Transfer Credit Unit. Train staff, oversee workload assignments, and monitor production. Monitor special populations of students and coordinate with departments and colleges to resolve issues. Oversee workload distribution, establish workload priorities, create, compile, and maintain statistical reports and programs to assist with workload management. Ensure that all processes associated with transfer credit evaluation and ARS requests are carried out in a timely manner.
- Defines required reports to meet campus needs. Provides detailed specifications for advanced reports. Utilizes programming tools to generate reports from PeopleSoft using Query tools to ensure accuracy of data and timely posting of transfer credit.
- Recommend, plan, interpret, and implement institutional policies and procedures regarding transfer credit, general education, and ADT requirements. Provide information to students, staff and external constituents on GE and ADT policy and eligibility where applicable providing alternatives for resolving academic policy problems or recommend exceptions when appropriate.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to coordinate workflow, carry out assignments without detailed instructions, train staff on relevant policies and procedures, and establish quality control guidelines. Knowledge and experience with online student information systems and Microsoft Excel. Experience in running reports on student data for production management purposes. Demonstrated ability to analyze system programs and propose solutions. Knowledge of admission policies, transfer credit evaluations, and requirements. Ability to use knowledge to resolve issues and respond to complex requests. Experience researching academic information to determine applicable rules and regulations, preferred. Strong ability to work effectively with supervisors, subordinates, peers, faculty, administrators, and staff. Demonstrated ability to communicate with ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Summary - Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5,416 - $6,250 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,598 - $8,318 per month.

Time Base 1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
