    Summary

    This heavy labor position is responsible for performing the following waste water duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performs installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of the water distribution an water collection systems.
    • Responsible for the repair of water/waste water problems as they arise
    • Supervises the crew of 1-3 staff members in the absence of the crew leader.
    • Operates equipment on water main breaks/water lines and oversees the repair of manhole rings and lids.
    • Oversees smoke testing and water line testing followed with applicable repairs.
    • Lays new water/sewer mains.
    • Distributes public correspondence notices and smoke test notices door to door to City of Lancaster citizens.
    • Available for 24 hours per day, 7 days a week unscheduled, on call status pending a water/waste water response situation.
    • Assigned as primary on-call responder once per month as scheduled.
    • Cleans and maintains the appearance of work equipment and work areas.
    • Responsible for inventory of tools and equipment.
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Class B (CDL) Driver License preferred
    Class D Water Certification preferred
    Class D Waste Water Collection 1 Certification preferred
    Confined Space Entrant Certification preferred
    Driving is a requirement of this position
