Salary range: $67,590 to $80,000 Posting Expires: 11/8/2024 Summary of Duties The Office of Film, Entertainment & Nightlife is responsible for the following: The Data Analytics and Reporting Manager is a pivotal role within the City of Atlanta’s Office of Nightlife and Entertainment. This role is responsible for leading data-driven initiatives that support the division’s objectives, including policy development, strategic planning, and the evaluation of programs and events. The Manager will gather, analyze, and present data to inform decision-making, provide insights on trends, and drive continuous improvement across nightlife and entertainment initiatives.
Data Strategy and Analysis: - Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data analytics strategy for the Office of Nightlife and Entertainment.
- Analyze large datasets related to nightlife activities, entertainment events, public safety, economic impact, and business performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Use statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Python) and advanced Excel techniques to perform in-depth analyses of data from various city departments, surveys, and industry sources.
Reporting and Visualization: - Create, maintain, and distribute dynamic reports, dashboards, and visualizations (using tools like Power BI, Tableau) to communicate key insights to internal teams, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Develop clear, actionable insights through data storytelling, making complex data easily digestible for non-technical audiences.
- Monitor KPIs related to public safety, economic impact, resident satisfaction, and other relevant nightlife metrics, producing reports that inform policy decisions and program planning.
Project Management: - Oversee multiple data-related projects simultaneously, ensuring all are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with division objectives.
- Manage the data collection process for various nightlife programs and events, including surveys, public feedback, and business performance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with the city's privacy and confidentiality standards.
Stakeholder Engagement and Presentation: - Work closely with city leadership, entertainment venues, businesses, and external partners to understand data needs and ensure data-driven recommendations align with stakeholder goals.
- Present findings to senior city officials, policymakers, and industry partners to guide decision-making on nightlife policies, licensing, and city planning.
- Serve as the data expert within the division, advising on trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Nightlife & Entertainment team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in data analytics, public policy, entertainment, and urban planning.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and behavioral analytics to enhance data analysis and reporting processes.
- Continuously evaluate and improve data collection methods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in supporting nightlife and entertainment initiatives.
Support for Signature Events and Initiatives: - Provide research and analytics support for signature events such as Entertainment Crawls, Training Day, Get In The Mix, and Hot Topics.
- Assist with day-of event coordination when needed, particularly with regard to data collection and post-event reporting.

Technical Skills: - Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, R, SPSS, Python, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization techniques and report creation.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Required- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, business analytics, economics, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting. Experience within government, entertainment, or urban development sectors is a plus.
Preferred- Experience working in urban development, entertainment industries, or public sector analytics.
- Familiarity with the nightlife and entertainment ecosystem of a major metropolitan city.
