Education/Training: A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Microbiology or one of the related life sciences is required.
Pursuant to Executive Order N-25-20, the possession of a Public Health Microbiologist Trainee letter (certificate) has been suspended as to all persons who meet the testing personnel requirements under 42 CFR Section 493.1489. This position will not provide the selected candidates with PH Microbiologist certificate issued by California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Incumbents may need a valid California driver’s license.

VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DEADLINE.
