Salary Range: $19.27-$29.39/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
Street Maintenance-District 3 Division - Drives vehicles, operates machinery, and uses hand tools.
- Fixes streets, sidewalks, catch basins, and ditch liners.
- Works on water, storm, and sewer systems, including lift and pump stations, fire hydrants, and sanitary and storm sewers.
- Mows grass, paints, installs street signs.
- Performs minor landscaping.
- Helps with weed and pest control operations as directed.
- Cleans floors, bathrooms, kitchens, and windows.
- Removes trash.
- Answers calls about sewer back-ups and problems, and unclogging backed-up city main lines.
- Locates water, storm, sewer lines, fiber optics, and fire hydrants for construction projects.
Street Maintenance-District 1 Division - Operates chain and hand saws in cutting up tree branches and limbs.
- Flags traffic, operates weed eater, picks up trash/debris.
- Participates in the construction/maintenance of streets, bridges and culverts.
- Prepares street potholes/depressions for asphalt patching.
- Shovels hot or cold asphalt mix into potholes/depressions.
- Rakes asphalt.
- Rolls and tamps asphalt.
- Operates light to moderately heavy automotive and related equipment as necessary to carry through assigned installation and repair work occasionally.
- Performs semi-skilled manual activities in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
- Performs snow removal and other related duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation OR 6 months of experience in general labor. May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
