    Position Description
    This position is responsible for assuring smooth operation of the flow in a correctional facility medical clinic. Employees serve as primary contacts for patients and are responsible for preparing necessary paperwork before patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position may be responsible for coordinating other clinic services, responding to requests for patient information, and maintaining related information for the department. Employees in this classification receive general supervision. Most work is performed according to established procedures; problems of an unusual nature are referred to supervisor. Work is performed in a medical clinic setting in a correctional facility and may require a high degree of contact with patients, facility staff, and other partners.

    Major/Essential Functions
    • Manages Mental Health caseload reminders in EHR.
    • Processes patients through EHR.
    • Schedules patients for appointments.
    • All office correspondences will be disseminated to appropriate staff.
    • Screen and distribute offender sick call requests.
    • Create reminders for sick call and referral upon disposition.
    • Tracks numbers for various reports, including but not limited to: Access to Care and Monthly Activities.
    • Acts as courier to facilitate the EMR operation.
    • Answers phones, relays accurate messages and screens calls for clinicians.
    • Obtain office supplies and forms when needed.
    • Various other duties as assigned.
    • Patient Throughput Management.
    • Responds to all requests in a timely manner as required.
    • Effectively participates in the overall goals of the Managed Care Team.
    • Support the goal of the unit by attending necessary meetings.

    Required Qualifications
    One (1) year customer service, office, or related experience required. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement.
