Job Summary Performs professional, administrative, and technical work related to designing, building, implementing, and maintaining the computer networks businesses and/organizations use. These networks may include the phone system, intranet, extranet, and more. Responsible for the maintenance of these essential systems which may include assessing performance, completing regular maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing problems. Works in a team environment, as well as autonomously, to resolve problems efficiently and expeditiously while focusing on department goals and objectives to deliver timely and accurate information to the decision-makers and operational teams. Work is performed under general supervision of the Network Support Manager and is subject to periodic review and evaluation.
This position works extensively with network routing and switching in a Cisco IOS environment; therefore, a strong understanding of Cisco IOS and more than a year of experience working with Csco IOS is a must-have. The following skill sets are desirable:
- Efficiency in the support and maintenance of Cisco security products
- Efficiency in the support and maintenance of Cisco Unified Communications
- Efficiency in the support and maintenance of Cisco wireless products
- Efficiency in the support and maintenance of virtual private networks
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and one (1) year of technical IT experience, network management, and system administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. IP networking, routing, switching, and firewall management experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications for Promotion:
Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.
