    The Child Fatality Prevention Team is looking for a Part-Time Nurse Review Coordinator.

    The purpose of the Child Fatality Prevention Team (CFPT) is to:
    1. Identify deficiencies in the delivery of services to children and families by public agencies;
    2. Make and carry out recommendations for changes that will prevent future child deaths; and
    3. Promote understanding of the causes of child deaths.

    Local CFPTs and state agencies use CFPT review findings to determine trends, target prevention strategies, identify family and community needs, and support community agencies in their services for children and families. Local team recommendations are forwarded to the state team in order to make recommendations to the task force.
    The role of the CFPT Nurse Review Coordinator is to coordinate the Wake County CPFT, working with community leaders to maintain and enhance the review team. Develop partnerships with child health and safety organizations and help facilitate group collaboration.

    This position is responsible for:
    • Work closely with the Chair of the CFPT in a supportive assistant chair role
    • Collect, review and analyze case information to create written summaries for team meetings
    • Obtain and update mortality and morbidity data
    • Complete and submit required state reports and maintain electronic logs of all cases reviewed. Ensure that the team operates according to protocols as defined by the team and/or law
    • Recruit and orient new team members
    • Develop and maintain relationships with core team member agencies
    • Schedule and Attend state child fatality review team meetings monthly as well as quarterly regional meetings
    • Prepare presentations and written materials as needed
    • Serve as a liaison to the state office and other agencies as needed

    **Please note that this position is part-time, hybrid. The work schedule may vary but max work hours is 20 hours/week. More schedule details discussed at time of interview**

    The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

    • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
    • No specific experience required
    • RN - Registered Nurse - North Carolina Board of Nursing or Compact state
    • BPT - Bloodborne Pathogens Training
    • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
    • AED - Automated External Defibrillator
    • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
    • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

    Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

    • Pediatric nursing experience


    How Will We Know You're 'The One'?

    • RN license in NC
    • Minimum of Associates degree in Nursing ADN
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
    • Good knowledge of community health program development, and human service systems involved in child and adolescent health
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and decision-making skills
    • Demonstrates high degree of adaptability and organizational skills
    • Ability to work with various platforms including Microsoft Suite
    • Ability to navigate medical records
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners
    • Ability to identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve the issues
