What You'll Be Doing Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program This position is grant funded with an anticipated ending date of September 30, 2025, but may end at any time prior to that date or be extended after the date pending approval.
COSSUP Project Coordinator
The COSSUP Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Opioid Abuse Management Program and will report directly to the Health Services Administrator with the Wake County Detention Center. This position will maintain an average work schedule of 40 hours per week working 8:00 am-4:30pm. The Program Coordinator will work along with the Project team in efforts to reduce opioid related overdoses and deaths through programming in the detention facility and with Wake County Sheriff’s Office in the community.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordination of naloxone distribution and supply needs
- Coordination of DisposeRX disposables and distribution
- Manage data on use of handheld narcotic analyzers and supplies
- Monitor tablets/iPads for use in the Medical/Detox Unit and ensure programs are available to assist in MOUD recovery and treatment
- Collaborate with the MAT Coordinator as needed
- Collaborate with Data Sharing Project Team for electronic data sharing
- Track gas and mileage for treatment and recovery
- Actively collaborate with WCSO Project Treatment Team and Community Providers as needed
- Complete monthly status report and send to the Health Services Administrator
- Recognize and report critical incidents to the Health Services Administrator
- Obtain releases/documentation as needed
- Participate in and complete all required agency trainings and meetings
- Data collection for COSSUP program as needed
- Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - A graduate of a college or university with human services, criminal justice or substance abuse or:
- At least two years of working experience with substance abuse management and care coordination.
