Position Overview:This position reports to Austin Water’s Chief Administrative Officer and is part of the Director’s Office team. Primary functions are serving as the staff liaison to the Water and Wastewater Commission and managing the City Council agenda process for Austin Water. Other duties include supporting Austin Water’s responses to public information requests and coordinating responses to Council and Commissioner inquiries. Special projects and other duties may be assigned such as workflow process improvements and seasonal state legislative session support.

Your skill level in some of the competency areas for this job - specifically Business Writing and Clerical Proofreading - will be assessed through skills testing with a required minimum passing score of 70%.

Travel:
If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin
Driver Safety Program , you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
Effective October 1, 2014, all Austin Water worksite locations are tobacco-free. Use of tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes is not permitted on any AW worksite - including construction sites, parking lot, garage or in any personal vehicle located on the premises.
Pay Range
$24.89 - $29.18
Hours
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday-Friday, and evening hours to attend advisory board meetings, at least once per month and as needed.

Preferred Experience: - Strong administrator and coordinator who is highly organized and attentive to detail

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
