    Introduction

    Scottsdale Stadium is seeking a highly organized professional who excels in customer service, communication, and event execution of all types. This position manages multiple projects such as Indian School Park baseball reservations, Scottsdale Stadium events, and collaborates closely with multiple stakeholders on event strategy and implementation. The position supervises full-time and part-time operational staff and reports to the Scottsdale Stadium Operations and Events Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing events, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners, and working cross departmentally with the City's legal, risk management, facilities, and grounds crew.

    Anticipated salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
    • Three years of experience in a related field specific to the area of assignment.
    • Must have at least one year of lead or supervisory experience.
    • Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

    Licensing, Certifications, and Other Requirements
    All Assignments:
    • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date. The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
    • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

    Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.

    Essential Functions

    Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
    • Supervises employees and coordinates personnel-related activities to include, but not limited to training, approving work schedules, recommending/approving personnel actions, coaching and counseling, establishing performance goals, and writing performance evaluations.
    • Plans, coordinates, and supervises the day-to-day operations of a specific area of assignment, which includes, but is not limited to, monitoring projects, work orders, and assignments.
    • Assigns/reviews daily work, answers questions from staff, estimates time requirements for each task, allocates manpower, and coordinates staffing based on program and/or facility needs throughout the year.
    • Effectively and promptly communicates with various organizations and community groups to develop and coordinate activities/special events/systems.
    • Obtains, monitors, and tracks department related records.
    • Plans, creates, develops, implements, and monitors objectives through innovative management techniques.
    • Develops, implements, and enforces operational policies, procedures, and safety practices within a specific area of assignment.


    Work Environment/Physical Demands

    • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including a schedule that could vary from week to week.
    • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, with assistance, depending upon assignment.
    • May be required to work outdoors in all types of weather.
    • Exposure to weather conditions, traffic hazards, and noises.
    • Operates standard office equipment and a motor vehicle.
    • Some work is performed in an office setting, but may include walking, moving, or climbing elevations; requires moderate muscular exertion and lifting.
    • Parks Maintenance positions may also include these work environment/physical demands characteristics:
      • Perform construction and maintenance functions requiring visual and manual dexterity and precision measurements.
      • Read and work from drawings and specifications.
      • Calibrate and apply both liquid and granular fertilizer/herbicides/pesticides using most recent horticulture standards and practices.
      • Regular exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant hazardous odors.
    Operate various landscaping hand tools.
