    Job Summary

    Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Technology Deployment Services and working in a team environment, the incumbent is responsible for deploying/patching applications and operating systems to campus endpoints, configuring and managing shared endpoints, providing tier 1 management of systems used by Technology Deployment Services, and providing tier 2 desktop/user support for shared and user-assigned devices.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop, deploy, and patch Microsoft and 3rd party applications and operating systems on user-assigned and shared endpoints - Create, test, deploy and patch application packages and operating systems using Intune, Jamf, SCCM, and WDS. Monitor deployment success, versions of installed applications, and develop/implement plans for patching both Microsoft and 3rd party software.
    • Configure, manage, and update shared endpoints in classrooms, labs, conference rooms, kiosks, and other service points - Design, test, and deploy shared endpoints - including classrooms, labs, conference rooms, kiosks, wayfinding, and virtual attendants.
    • Tier 1 application administration for Technology Deployment Services tools and systems - Deployment, configuration, support, and troubleshooting related to Pharos student pay-for-print systems.
    • Tier 2 support and consulting for campus technical groups for OS configuration and applications patching/deployment - Resolve incidents and service requests that are escalated from team members. Provide customer support in a friendly manner to students, faculty, and staff.

    Ability to craft clear, concise, and well-structured documents, emails, and reports, as well as articulate thoughts and ideas effectively in both formal and informal settings. Effectively manages customer expectations by maintaining regular and transparent communication and addressing concerns promptly to build trust and ensure satisfaction. Ability to handle complaints and issues by identifying root causes, providing solutions, and following up to ensure resolution. Strong collaboration skills, active participation in team activities, sharing knowledge, and ability to support colleagues to achieve common goals.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    Equivalent to bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related technical field and 2 years of related experience required.

    • Experience creating images, packaging applications, and deploying systems using various endpoint technologies such as Microsoft Configuration Manager, Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune.

    • Experience using software deployment tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Intune, and Jamf Pro

    • Experience with management and operations of Windows Active Directory.

    • Two (2) years’ experience providing desktop and user support in large enterprise or higher education institutions supporting both Windows and Apple OS systems.

    Physical Summary
    • Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

    Licenses / Certificates

    • Valid California Driver’s license required.

    Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

    Compensation

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,158 - $12,730 per month.

    Time Base

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
