    Summary

    Reads water consumption meters and records volume used by residential and commercial consumers by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Walks or drives truck over established route and takes readings of meter dials.
    • Inspects meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections.
    • Indicates irregularities on forms for necessary servicing. ? Verifies readings to locate abnormal consumption and records reasons for fluctuations and reports suspicious water consumption to Utility Billing Manager.
    • Turns service off for nonpayment of charges in vacant premises, or on for new occupants.
    • Returns route book to business office for billing purposes.

    Education and/or Experience

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Valid Class C Driver’s License
