    The Position

    Supply Technicians participate in the procurement, receipt, storage, issuing, shipment, property control, inventory, and recordkeeping for a wide variety of assets to include, but not limited to, the following: property, equipment, services, food, forms, parts and supplies. Incumbents work in a warehouse, stockroom or office setting and prepare and process documents for the requisition, purchase, receipt, issuance and transfer of goods; expedite the flow of goods from vendor to user; and maintain control records for a variety of property and equipment.

    The position is responsible for managing the supply room for this facility of 260 sworn and non -sworn personnel. Duties include maintaining adequate inventory of common use supplies, such as paper, pens and staples, while ordering additional items as needed at the most cost-effective price. Incumbent will ensure that all new hires have the material necessary to perform their duties, including radio equipment for the sworn personnel. Supplies will be ordered utilizing the EPro electronic procurement system. Additional duties include conducting inventories of supplies and equipment, organizing, labeling and maintaining the cleanliness of the supply room, and projecting use and need for budgeting purposes. Incumbent will prepare Property Disposition Reports, maintain stock items for the Lab, communicate and follow up with vendors. This position works in close conjunction with the Division's purchasing function in Carson City, NV. The Supply Tech I position with the Department of Public Safety, Division of Parole & Probation, is located at 251 E. Bonanza in Las Vegas, NV. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included maintaining inventory records, inventory storage and handling, shipping and receiving materials and equipment, and/or ordering supplies, equipment and materials; OR one year of experience as a Supply Assistant in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
