About the Department: The mission of the York County Information Technology Department is to promote informed decision making and to improve County efficiency by providing the citizens and employees of York County the best informational resources that are economically feasible through existing and emerging technologies. The Information Technology Department supports all information technology initiatives for York County Government. York County is making the necessary investments in Information Technology and software, which through careful planning, cooperative business and technical execution will provide its citizens with a return on investment in the form of improved services. The initiatives below have been established to help the department to focus in performing its functions of developing and maintaining current information technology systems, providing a technology infrastructure and customer service support to County agencies and other Information Technology users.
About our opportunityWe invite you to join our team as a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt Applications Coordinator I with the Information Technology Department. The main responsibilities of this position include answering, directing, and responding to incoming calls, emails, and tickets from County staff and residents, and escalating tickets to the appropriate person within the IT department.
Projected Hiring Range: $53,610.27 - $67,012.84 per year. Salary is based on qualifications.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am -5:00 pm; hours may vary based on operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities: - Unlocks end user accounts, implements Two Factor authentication for VPN and administrative privileges.
- Researches, evaluates, recommends and implements new management information system technologies, applications and systems.
- Develops and documents functional and technical specifications based on business requirements.
- Performs regular updates to operating systems and software packages along with server updates and maintenance; implements interfaces between operating system and personal computer software applications; develops and coordinates interfaces between the Internet, Intranet and operating system.
- Communicates with consultants and vendors to determine appropriate hardware and software technologies for assigned projects; oversees vendor contracts for hardware and software support and maintenance.
- Performs system operator duties, including but not limited to performing printer interfaces and data backups.
- Manages various systems including but not limited to operating systems, computers, servers, printers, software, and data terminals in mobile vehicles, along with various departmental applications and web applications, which requires the ability to drive a County vehicle to multiple County locations.
- Performs related work as assigned.
About youEducation and Experience: - Associate’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline.
- Three (3) years of experience in providing help desk, network or related services or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses:- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Must possess Criminal Justice Information (CJIS) Certification.
- CompTIA ITF+ certification.

Longevity AllowanceFull-time regular county employees, elected officials, appointed officials, and judges with ten or more years of full time continuous governmental service are eligible to receive a monthly longevity allowance in addition to their regular compensation. Continuous service transferred from employment with another county, municipality, state or a political entity created by the State may contribute toward eligibility for the longevity allowance. Longevity allowances are paid according to the following schedule.

Employees in their new hire six (6) month probationary period shall not be able to use annual leave until they become regular county employees. Employees who are separating from county service shall be paid for all accrued, unused annual leave up to 360 hours provided they give York County as the employer the proper notice as required. Employees in their six (6) month New Hire probationary period who are terminated or separated from employment shall not be paid for accrued annual leave. The maximum amount of annual leave carried into each calendar year is 360 hours.
Earning Rate for Full-Time EmployeesFull-time employees with less than ten years of continuous service earn at the rate of eight hours of paid annual leave for each month of service during a twelve months period. Full-time employees with at least ten years, but less than twenty years of continuous service will earn at the rate of ten (10) hours of paid annual leave for each month of service during a twelve month period. Full-time employees with twenty or more years of service will earn at the rate of twelve (12) hours of paid annual leave for each month of service during a twelve (12) months period.
Sick LeaveFull-time county employees may be entitled to earn sick leave with pay. Employees may accrue up to 1,440 hours of sick leave. Upon termination of employment with the County, employees may not be reimbursed for any unused sick leave. When a paid holiday occurs while an employee is on sick leave with pay, the day may not be charged as sick leave.
Earning Rate of Sick LeaveFull time employees will earn eight hours of sick leave per month of service during a twelve month period.

Training:Quality training and educational programs are available at various times for county employees in order to support workforce development that is consistent with organizational objectives. Training topics may include driver training, CPR/first aid, communication, supervisor training, workplace violence, substance abuse, and various computer related classes.
