  • Job Description

    Summary

    This position provides support to the Development Services and Public Works departments. Responsible for assisting citizens, contractors, and developers with applications and permit fees. Answers technical questions regarding building permits and inspections process.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Customer Service:
    • Answer phones.
    • Greet customers.
    Register contractors.
    Collect and process payment from various departments.
    Print Certificates of Occupancy.
    Schedule inspections o (building, rental, etc.)
    Process electrical and gas releases.
    Code and submit invoices for payment.
    Responsible for maintaining active/inactive case files for the department.
    Issues residential and/or commercial water meters.
    Other duties may be assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Ability to obtain Permit Technician Certification issued through the State of Texas is required within 6 months. A valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for this position. Driving is a requirement of this position.
