General Description and Classification Standards
The Public Safety Information Technology Manager (Senior Project Manager) holds a pivotal role in our organization, ensuring the technological advancement and efficiency of public safety operations. Your contribution to this role is paramount and will significantly impact our operations. As the Public Safety Information Technology Manager, you will have the opportunity to plan and coordinate all aspects of internal IT systems and specific projects for Public Safety within the Fire Department. This role is designed for a fully seasoned professional capable of independently carrying out most assignments, with the potential for significant growth and development.
Supervision Received:
This employee works under the guidance and supervision of the IT Director.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or business (equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). The ideal candidate is a seasoned manager who has managed complex end-to-end technology programs and projects in their experience.
It typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience, including five years of professional IT experience as a team or project lead.
Candidates must possess a solid technical background to assist staff in troubleshooting issues and making decisions based on knowledge and information presented by staff to fix existing problems with the application, experience with high volume support of applications, and manage staff work logs and assignments.
Preferred Education & Experience
Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or business (equivalent professional experience may be required)
