Full-time position available with the Water Department, Finance-Remittance Division located at 4800 E. 63rd St.
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
- Prepares, maintains, and examines a variety of accounting, financial, and revenue reports.
- Reviews, investigates then corrects errors and inconsistencies with records, documents and/or reports.
- Generates financial, accounting, statistical statements, analyses, and reports.
- Performs payment reconciliation daily, ensure timely resolution of any posting discrepancies.
- Accurately generates daily and monthly account statements and revenue reports.
- Analyzes financial data and suggests ways to improve financial/revenue reports.
- Notifies supervisor of any anomalies, proposes changes or improvements to workflows.
- Monthly sales tax preparation and filing processes for the State of Missouri, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Submits monthly revenue reports to accounting staff and departmental management.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related subject area and 2 years of experience in entry-level, professional accounting work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.
Preference given to candidates with a financial background and proficient Microsoft Excel skills. Other Information

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
