What You'll Be Doing

***Note*** This is a Temporary, Part-Time-PRN (As Needed) role***

Child Welfare is an exciting and challenging place to work. Wake County has innovative programs, a fully staffed training department, a fully staffed after-hours team and many opportunities for staff engagement. The Child Welfare Permanency Planning, Placement, and Prevention Section is seeking a Child Welfare Case Aide to work with the Child Welfare Division to provide continuity in the implementation of strategies and interventions with children and families to achieve safe and timely permanency.

This will be done through:

  • Direct transport for children in Wake County Custody to/from family visitations, doctor visits, family team meetings, court hearings and other necessary appointments
  • Ensuring the timely and secure transportation and support services for children and youth
  • Proving required visitation services as outlined in the visitation plan
  • Completing genetic marker testing
  • Assisting with group facilitation, supervision of youth, and other Child Welfare initiatives

Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive to various locations to visit families and maintain appointments.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Knowledge of child development and the effects of trauma on children and family system
  • Experience working with families involved with Child Welfare
  • Experience in facilitating groups

Hiring Range: 22.13 - 25.43 Commensurate with Experience

Market Range: 22.13 - 28.73

Emergency Service Worker Statement
