Position Description

Tacoma Power is currently establishing the role of Regulatory Compliance Analyst, Senior, with a focus on implementing and coordinating environmental programs to meet compliance regulations and permits. The key responsibilities for this position can be categorized as follows:

Project Management:
Manage and lead projects and studies.Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.Coordinate cross-functional project teams.Set and monitor progress towards project goals.Ensure adherence to project standards and manage project budgets. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Research, compile, and analyze complex data.Identify trends and present findings to management.Provide recommendations and solutions based on data results.Implement processes based on findings and summaries.Review laboratory and field testing for regulatory compliance.Respond to complex scientific requests.Prepare or oversee the preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications. Environmental Programs Management:
Oversee programs such as Clean Air Act, Air & Greenhouse gas programs, Model Toxics Clean-up Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, & Liability Program Act, Emergency Spill response programs, permit management, City Municipal Stormwater Permit, and Regional Road Maintenance, Compile site assessments, cleanup field notes, and laboratory analytical results.Prepare and submit required spill response and cleanup reports. Qualifications

Minimum Education*
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, chemistry, biology or directly related field

Minimum Experience*
4 years of professional environmental science or natural resources compliance, planning or mitigation work

Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
Washington State Driver's License

*Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education

Other Employment Information

Direct Deposit: Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule by direct deposit.

Salary Increases: Based on satisfactory job performance, the City provides for a regular progression of salary increases for most classifications according to the salary schedule.

Union Affiliation: Many job classifications are covered by union security provisions which require union membership, dues, or payment of equivalent service fees.
