Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

The Inventory Control Specialist will be working with the Sheriff’s Office Property Management Operations which includes receiving and accountability of equipment, parts, products, and supplies as well as the processing of excess/surplus property.

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate the purchase and issuance of employee uniforms, equipment and emergency supplies
  • Organize and distribute uniforms, emergency equipment and supplies
  • Maintain delivery times and secure all items needed for pick-up and delivery
  • Coordinate/schedule outside vendors regarding product inventory and shipping fulfillment
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory of sworn and detention personnel and renewal timelines
  • Inventory and create spreadsheets of supplies, equipment and documents required for management of all Wake County Deputies and Detention Officers
  • Perform warehouse facility duties including maintaining equipment warranties, daily warehouse inspections and functions and evaluating programs and recommended changes in safety procedures regarding equipment and new protocols
  • Perform or lead inventory work when such work involves establishing lead times for ordering and tracking equipment and adjusting inventory levels
  • Recommend and collaborate closely with administration in making decisions relating to major changes in inventory and supplies
  • Responsible for performing procedures, implementing and complying with policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy of the agency's inventory

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience in office or inventory management
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Emergency Service Worker Statement
