Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

The Medical Records Administrative Office Assistant provides administrative support to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office Medical Department. This is an overnight position.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs scanning of paper health information into the electronic health record following established guidelines
  • Prepares packets with copies of relevant medical documentation, emails and fax documentation and answers telephone calls
  • After nurse triage create clinic orders in the electronic medical records
  • Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Medical Department

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of administrative/office support experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • You will be required to submit to a criminal background check, CVSA examination and drug screening.

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records.
  • Proficient in information management programs and MS Office.
