The Position

Mail Service staff process incoming and outgoing mail to ensure distribution to proper destination according to zip code, department, agency or other location.

This recruitment is for a Mail Service Technician position, located in Carson City, Nevada within the Division of Mail Services, Department of Administration. This position assists the supervisor in day-to-day incoming and outgoing mail processing and delivery in accordance with USPS Regulations, established policies, and procedures, and within scope of responsibility. The incumbent will also ensure that all written policies and procedures are followed and that all assigned duties are performed accurately, thoroughly and completed in a timely manner. Provide training for employees and ensure technical tasks are clearly understood. Inform supervisor of any issues that may impact timely processing of mail. Have a working knowledge of all mail equipment and mail processing standards. Assist with production work as needed to complete daily tasks in a timely manner. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in sorting, bundling and delivering mail, and operating mail processing equipment; OR one year of experience as a Mail Service Clerk II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
