Currently, there is one full-time Information Technology (IT) Analyst vacancy assigned to Applications. This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications that are integral to the day-to-day operations of the organization. Key duties for this position are the design and development of computer applications, enterprise system implementation & integrations, as well as IT related business process analysis & re-engineering.

SCHEDULE:
  • This position may work a 5/40, 9/80, or 4/10 schedule.

SELECTION COMPONENTS:

RETIREMENT:

The City offers an excellent benefits package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement Systems (CalPERS). The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.5% of pay towards the retirement benefit.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate

A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Depending on area of assignment, three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in: application development, design & testing, web-based applications and database integration, computer systems analysis, data analysis and reporting; or hardware and software support, with at least one year of experience in administering Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Security and LAN/WAN software and hardware; or experience designing, implementing and maintaining GIS databases, surveying principles, cartography and map layer design.

Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in management information systems, computer science, or a related field.

License or Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
