Exercises independent judgment and action in the performance of duties under general supervision.

Performs functions requiring the application of expertise relating to human resources/personnel/payroll, including but not limited to:

Disseminating information regarding employee benefits, informing employees of agency policies and procedures, and advising/assisting administration, supervisors, and staff on personnel related issues.

Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and processing of a variety of payroll and personnel transactions (i.e., contact information, deductions, tax withholdings, supervisory changes, etc.) into the payroll system and ensuring compliance with agency policies as well as state and federal laws.

Assisting in hiring activities: Job announcement submission, application processing, candidate selection and pre-employment processing, vacancy closings, and new hire processing/onboarding.

Pulling Hours to Gross reports for payroll compliance, drafting/distributing personnel letters, finalizing PDQ (Personnel Description Questionnaire) and PAF (Position Action Form) processing, reviewing compensatory time for compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), assisting with compensatory time and annual leave payouts, and coordinating the use of ShareLeave, Long Term Disability, and Parental Leave with employees.

Completing initial injury reports for work-related accidents and submitting workers' compensation claims.

Maintaining workers ‘compensation and time files and other confidential information for assigned caseload.

Performing other related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

One or more years as an Administrative Support Assistant (SOSA) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR

Four or more years of office experience, and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency

(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the general experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year)

Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
