This position is eligible for telecommuting after a successful onboarding period. Travel to Jefferson City and other locations will be required. Flexible scheduling may be considered.

  • Lead a WIC team to develop, implement, evaluate and improve procedures and techniques that ensure local agencies are operating effectively and are meeting or exceeding program goals as measured through management evaluations.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the activities and functions of the local agency administrative monitoring and technical assistance aspects of the statewide WIC program.
  • Ensure consistency in the application of monitoring procedures.
  • Train and directly oversee four (4) WIC local agency technical assistance and monitoring staff to ensure robust local agency compliance and quality service delivery.
  • Lead or assist in the development of administrative policies and coordinate administrative activities within the WIC program, based on federal regulations and guidance, state policies and procedures, and WIC local agency agreements.
  • Provide training and information to state and local agency staff and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct local agency technical assistance visits, financial reviews, monitoring visits, special investigations and impact analyses for a small caseload of local agencies. Coordinate and support these activities for the administrative monitoring team.
  • Other related work as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area and six or more years of relevant experience. Substitutions may be allowed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and analyze data.
  • Availability to work outside of normal hours, when necessary.
  • A valid driver license.
  • Ability to travel statewide approximately 25% of the time, including occasional overnights.
