The Position

Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

The incumbent will be responsible for processing information for NDOT programs using various software applications/programs. The incumbent will assist with budget planning, reconciliations and reporting. They will also process approved payment vouchers, billing claims and damage billing. Incumbent will assist Program Officer and Professional Staff with budget planning, preparation of budget reporting and documentation as needed. Incumbent will oversee agency programs; DocuSign, SharePoint, Records Retention; others as needed. The incumbent will be knowledgeable of transportation policies as specified in the Transportation Policy Manuel. Also will share the workload of office staff by participating in filing, typing correspondence, distribution, communications (phones), data entry, and public inquiries as needed. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions at the Division of Nevada State Parks may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks. This position has a 25% travel requirement. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
