Salary range: $80,127-$133,474

General Description and Classification Standards
  • Directs multiple assigned major airport functions, which may include strategic planning, data analytics, quality assurance, personnel, office management, budget and finance, procurement and contract management, inventory, etc.
  • Responsible for both strategic planning and day-to-day direction of assigned areas; Leads a very large and diverse staff; allocates budgeted resources as needed; establishes processes and procedures; gives appropriate and effective feedback to personnel and programs; holds staff accountable; ensures compliance with enterprise maintenance management systems software.
  • Provides functional and operational leadership to technical staff who are assigned to implement projects and /or conduct property assessments, develop recommendations for renewal and replacement projects, develop preventative and predictive maintenance programs.

Decision Making

Position makes decisions regarding resource allocation, among department management, regarding daily operating policies and processes. The ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced work environment are paramount. This position requires the ability to command the ATL Enforcement Operation during airport emergencies and special events.

Leadership Expectations
  • The position has directional authority over a group of managers and provides high level coaching and development for direct and high potential employees.
  • Provides guidance to a varied group of Managers and Supervisors or may directly supervise a staff of professionals and team leaders engaged in an organization-wide or policy-advisory activity.
  • Guidance should typically be general in nature and focus on objectives, end results, and policies.
  • Position must be skilled in effective feedback for managers and teams reporting and develop tools and metrics to hold all areas accountable.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, aviation management, or a related area
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, finance, business, public administration, aviation management, or a related area

Preferred Education & Experience
  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, human services, aviation management, or a related area plus
  • 5 years of experience in related field
  • Minimum 2-year airport management experience

Essential Capabilities and Work Environment

Required physical, walking and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully. Able to work in all weather and environmental conditions associated with job.
