Position Description
Draws blood from patients in a correctional hospital facility for analysis or other medical purposes.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Completes paperwork and maintains records as needed both in the lab and in EMR.
  • Familiar with basic functions of clinical laboratory, its methods, procedures, practices and terminology.
  • Possess skills and knowledge in obtaining blood samples from venous and capillary sites.
  • Prepare biological specimens for analysis.
  • Assists in the maintenance of proper level of supplies.
  • Be well-organized and able to synchronize duties with other personnel.
  • Reports incidents that are unusual or deficient to immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
