Job Description:Performs professional-level work and is responsible for the development and maintenance of high-level design plans for the overall logical and technical IT architecture. Provides technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision-making down to the project planning level. Gains organizational commitment for all high-level infrastructure plans, and initiates and participates in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans. Develops and defines architecture strategy models for IT Enterprise. Designs, integrates, and manages enterprise technology platforms including cloud solutions that align with the City of Orlando's goals, objectives, and direction. Responsible for developing key solution strategies and providing the highest level of technical guidance to support the development, implementation, and ongoing utilization of enterprise platforms. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Strategy and Architecture Manager. Performance is reviewed through conferences, written reports, and the achievement of goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: IT Architect I: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field and three (3) years technical IT experience
required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Background check
required. Knowledge of ITIL v3 and TOGAF 9.1 desired. Experience developing strategic plans and experience in systems design and development preferred.
IT Architect II: The same as IT Architect I, above, except five (5) years experience as specified is
required.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
