Missouri Vocational Enterprises (MVE) is a prison industries program operating 22 industries in 12 different Missouri correctional centers across the state. Civilian staff and offenders produce products and services for governmental and not for profit agencies.

MVE is more than $30 million/year business operation with approximately 170 employees. As the Chief Administrative Officer for MVE, this position is responsible for developing and implementing an innovative business model that aligns marketing and promotion strategies, technology, manufacturing processes, customer needs, and staffing to the vision and goals of the organization. This position ensures that MVE's business model produces financial success, develops offender skills, and creates a superior customer experience. The ability to work effectively and efficiently in a change environment and to forecast supply chain changes for the purposes of inventory management is critical to the success of this position. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of quality assurance and quality control strategies that allow for continual improvement and enhanced efficiencies.

The Assistant Division Director over MVE is also responsible for budgeting and fiscal management, ensuring compliance with industry standards, federal, state and local regulations; negotiating various contracts and cooperative agreements with federal, state, community and private sector entities; working with vendors to fulfill supply orders; and safe operations of all prison industries, services and manufacturing operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include documented experience in the management of industries, large or small businesses, or manufacturing operations, or consulting experience in the areas of industries or business operations.

Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.

The Department of Corrections is the only State agency that currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of service up to 20 years.
