Position Information

The City of Brentwood is seeking a skilled and experienced Wastewater Collections Worker II to perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of the city’s wastewater collections system. Some tasks that will be assigned include but are not limited to lateral repair, camera sewer lines, and daily rounds. We’re looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and a commitment to public service. These positions require an advanced understanding of wastewater collection systems and the ability to operate heavy equipment.

Qualifications

Education/Training:
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Experience:
  • Two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of wastewater collection systems comparable to a Collection System Worker I with the City of Brentwood including one year certified as a CWEA Grade I Collection System Worker.
License or Certificate:
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid Class A driver's license.
  • Possession of a CWEA certification as a Grade II Collection System Worker.

The examination process will consist of: Review of applications for minimum qualifications for the position and to ensure all materials have been submitted.Written Exam - Applicants possessing these requirements will be invited to take the written test. The examination will cover elements of the knowledge and abilities identified in the job description and is tentatively scheduled for the week of September 30, 2024. All applicants that pass the examination process will be placed on the eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months. This eligible list will be used by the City of Brentwood to fill all current and future openings in this classification as long as the list is active.
