Program Assistant for Greek Affairs & Community Engagement
(Student Services Professional IB)

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $4,269 - $4,400 per month

Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,269 - $6,040 per month
  • This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Student Involvement, this position assists with the coordination of programming and support of social Greek-letter organizations and their governing councils. The position assists in providing guidance for the University’s diverse and dynamic fraternity and sorority community and leadership development for the campus. This position also serves as a member of the Student Involvement team and assists with enhancing the overall experience of all students.

Key Qualifications
  • Ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of the specific objectives of the campus Student Services program and its relationship to the total campus operation.
  • Learn, interpret and apply university rules and regulations.
  • Learn and implement preventative and intervention strategies associated with college drinking.
  • Gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Present clear and concise information orally and in written reports and construct learning activities.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations and other private and public agencies.

Education and Experience
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field and one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level.
  • Equivalent amounts of graduate level job-related education may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
