Our diverse range of services includes assistance with consumer grievances, help with issues involving real estate fraud, identity theft, elder financial abuse, Small Claims Court, mediation, foreclosure, small business development, rent stabilization, cannabis policy development, and minimum wage enforcement. In addition, we drive initiatives to improve community wealth, economic stability, and access to services for vulnerable communities including low to moderate-income families, foster youth, and the immigrant population.

    The Opportunity:

    We are seeking qualified candidates to fill Senior Marketing Analyst vacancies in the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.

    Essential Job Functions

    Plans, develops, implements, and monitors departmental marketing strategies and programs.

    Maintains the Department's online marking and communication tools.

    Prepares various documents in order to secure support for departmental objectives.

    Prepares reports in order to provide pertinent Departmental information to County departments, external agencies, and members of the public, and meet the goals and objectives of the Department.

    Acts as a liaison for the Department by communicating with internal and external agencies.

    Supervises staff engaged in departmental marketing programs.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Two (2) years' experience in a *public agency assisting in the negotiation and implementation of marketing programs.

    -OR-

    Three (3) years' experience in private sector marketing implementing marketing projects.

    ** A Master's degree from an accredited college with specialization in Marketing may be substituted for six (6) months of the required public agency or private sector experience.

    LICENSE:
    A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.


    PHYSICAL CLASS:
    Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:

    * Public agency is defined as the Government of the United States; any agency of the United States, or government of a state, which includes counties, cities, school district, and etc.

    **In order to receive credit for any type of college or university degree, such as a Master's Degree or higher, you must attach a legible copy of the Official Diploma , Official Transcript(s) , or Official Letter from the accredited institution, which shows the area of specialization and the date the degree was awarded, with Registrar's signature and school seal, to the application.
    • Foreign degrees must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited institutions standards by an academic credential evaluation agency recognized by The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE) . (see Employment Information under Accreditation Information)

    OUT-OF-CLASS EXPERIENCE:
    Los Angeles County employees attempting to meet the requirements via experience inconsistent with their official payroll title will be considered for this examination. Applicants claiming out-of-class experience to meet the requirements should describe their out-of-class duties in detail in the Work Experience and Supplemental Questions sections of their application. Applicants are also encouraged to submit any supporting documentation such as out of class/additional responsibility bonuses, verification of experience documents, and performance evaluations in order to assist staff’s review of applicants' qualifications.

    EXAMINATION CONTENT :
    This examination consists of two (2) parts, weighted 100%.

    PART I: Multiple choice and/or simulation assessment(s) measuring:

    Management Potential, Working to High Quality Standards, Responsibility, Achievement, Willingness to Learn, Accepting Others, Showing Courtesy, Working Relationships, Analyzing Information, Learning Quickly, Compliance With Rules and Regulations, Adapting to Change, Controlling Emotions, Working Energetically, and General Problem Solving Skills.

    MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS AND SIMULATION ASSESSMENTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

    PART II: An Evaluation of Training and Experience (T&E) assessing competencies gained in the following areas:
    • Experience developing, implementing, and presenting marketing campaigns
    • Experience developing and implementing marketing campaign budgets
    • Experience with online marketing and communication tools
    Candidates must meet the Minimum requirements, and achieve a combined passing score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to be placed on the Eligible Register.

    Transfer of Test Components:
    • Applicants who have taken identical components recently for other exams may have their scores automatically transferred to this examination.
    • This examination contains test components that may be used in the future for new examinations and your test scores may be transferred.

    ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:

    NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS . Applications will be processed on an as-received basis and promulgated to the register of eligible candidates accordingly in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.

    VACANCY INFORMATION
    The resulting eligible register for this examination will be used to fill both permanent and temporary vacancies in the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.

    Appointees may be required to work any shift including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays in any area of Los Angeles County and may be subject to transfer at any time.
