Job Summary Salary information: Utility Service Worker I $17.04 - $21.72 Utility Service Worker II $18.05 - $23.01 LIFT STATION ONLY Performs semi-skilled work in the Operations and Maintenance of the Wastewater Lift Stations and associated support systems (odor control systems, air compressors, chemical metering pumps and controls, etc). Work is performed under the direction of a lead worker in a higher classification, such as Mechanic, Electrician or Lift Station Operator, as directed by the section Supervisor, and reviewed by the direct observation, while in progress, and upon completion. Required to work under adverse environmental conditions.
Minimum Requirements: Utility Service Worker I Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Six (6) months of experience in any of the following areas desired:
• Conducting inspections
• General construction
• General or preventative maintenance
• General maintenance (Industrial or automotive equipment experience preferred)
• Sewer system evaluation
• Pump station operation/maintenance, or repair activities
• Cleaning or repair
• Respirator physical may be required • Valid State of Florida Driver's License Required• Obtain and maintain security clearance and GOAA ID badge within ninety (90) days of hire Wearing a respirator face plate. Must be comfortable with having no facial hair between the face and sealing surface of a respirator face plate
Utility Service Worker II LIFT STATIONS: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two
(2) years of experience in Lift Stations operations/maintenance . Operation and maintenance of pumping stations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This is a ladder of progression from Utility Service Worker I position.
Valid Florida Driver's License required. Home phone/cell phone required prior to employment. Incumbent is
required to pass an annual respirator physical ; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face plate. Employees assigned to the Wastewater Lift Station Section
must obtain and maintain a security clearance and GOAA ID badge within ninety (90) days of their hire date. - Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;

- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
