Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Legislative Fiscal Policy , the Associate Governmental Program Analyst is responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and reviewing fiscal impact of state legislation for the department; monitoring the status of department bill analyses; serving as the department’s Mandated Reports Coordinator; and completing special projects of legislative interest to the Attorney General. The Associate Governmental Program Analyst works with all areas within the department and must have the ability to tactfully elicit information and cooperation from division, bureau, and program personnel at varying levels of authority. The duties of this job require independence of action, analyses, initiative, and thorough knowledge of departmental policies and practices.

Working Conditions

This position has been designated as eligible for telework and is currently a remote centered position. The position may however require in-person attendance when requested. The selected candidate would report to Department of Justice headquarters in Sacramento if/when required to attend mandated in-person meetings, trainings, etc. Expenses related to travel to the office for required events are the responsibility of the employee. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.
