The Position

Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.

Incumbents administer one or more programs or a major component of a large, complex program which affects a more targeted number of customers or clients; revise, recommend, and implement changes to work plans, program performance standards and objectives for providing services, and eligibility requirements.

This position is with the Department of Business & Industry, Nevada Housing Division in Carson City. This position will directly report to the Deputy Administrator and assist to oversee and supervise activities related to Licensing, Titling, Education, Permits, Inspections, Investigations and Compliance of Manufactured Home Parks, Manufactured Structures and Commercial Coaches as conducted by the division, local jurisdictions, and contracted third party providers, to include training and technical assistance of program participants. This position will have oversight for the Lot Rent Subsidy Program and ensure compliance with all statutes and regulations where applicable. The position will recommend, interpret, implement, and disseminate regulations, policies, and procedures related to program operations, while ensuring quality and consistency are uniformly executed statewide. The position will work with the Compliance Team on incoming complaints from the public and licensees. The position will provide hands-on support in all Licensing, Titling, Education, Permits, inspections, and Compliance issues for the Department. This position will perform other administrative duties as required, including planning, coordinating, and managing services, assisting the Deputy Administrator and office staff with front counter coverage. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment and one year of professional experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program which included interpretation of laws and regulations; development of program policy and procedures; development and implementation of program performance standards and objectives for providing services; and development and implementation of eligibility requirements; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
