Job Summary

Join our team in supporting the Grand Prairie Police Department's crucial mission of locating missing persons and runaways. As an integral member, you'll conduct thorough investigations, collaborate with GPPD detectives and other agencies, and testify in court as needed. Your responsibilities will also include training law enforcement personnel, organizing educational sessions, and managing pertinent paperwork and reports. Essential Job Functions

  • Investigates incidents and offenses by contacting complainants; taking written or verbal statements; contacting witnesses; gathering other pertinent information; initiating offense/incident reports; and distributing information to law enforcement entities and the public.

  • Assists with the preparation of court cases. Testifies in court. Collaborates with other agencies. Maintains files and records.

  • Provides support, assistance, and advocacy to victims and family members.
  • Trains law enforcement personnel by preparing and scheduling classes; and making presentations.

  • Completes various reports and paperwork. Collects data and statistics. Enters data into the computer. Maintains databases and files. Sharing information with other departments and certifying documents and statements as a Notary.

  • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED. Training beyond high school level to include technical school or correspondence courses that results in knowledge of state statutes and city ordinances related to police investigative work.

  • Experience: Two years related experience.

  • Licenses: Valid Class C Driver's License required

  • Certifications Required: TCIC/NCIC certified
