The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

Under the direction of the Management Analyst III, the incumbent will supervise one person. Responsibilities include conducting time studies throughout the division for efficiency, act as the IT Coordinator for division, support program managers, and manage agency grant processes and compliance with Federal standards including creating, maintaining, implementing, and auditing agency polices, documents, and training materials.

The incumbent will also maintain the database of domestic violence incidents; consolidate and then generate standard annual, quarterly, and monthly reports of crime statistics compiled by agency, county, and state agencies for use by contributing agencies and the FBI; publish the Crime in Nevada annual report and forward statistics to the FBI for inclusion in national reports; assist with the use and maintenance of the SAFE KIT Technical Solution; researches and analyzes State & Federal legislation and public policy issues; tracks Federal and State legislation and relates impact to the programs; develops alternative courses of action and probable outcomes based on available information and projects for the supervisors review; attend meetings as requested to represent the interests of the program; conducts and assists in facilitation of staff training around policy process updates; assists with general operations support, policy research and analysis, and related functions; ensures public facing system conforms to established goals and statutory requirements; updates policies and procedures based on new use cases, unique issues, and new Federal and/or State laws; independently organizes information and opinions with others to formulate internal policies and procedures for each unit supervisor review; and works to prepare informational materials to assist in developing agency policy, procedures, and guidelines. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
