We are currently seeking a
Certified Medical Assistant to join our Public Health Clinics team. The Certified Medical Assistant position will be located at the
Eastern Regional Center in Wake Forest. This position will be responsible for gathering all age appropriate anthropometric measurements. This includes height, weight, vital signs, vision.
Essential Functions: - Interview and take basic history of client, assist with paperwork completion, prepare patient for LHP
- Assist with exams, treatments and procedures as directed by LHP
- Under direction of LHP - administer age appropriate vaccines. Give VIS prior to administration. Document in NCIR and EMR
- Under direction of LHP, administer mediations via inhalation therapy, injections or oral route
- Document all findings in EMR
- Collect and process specimens such as blood, urine, and cultures
- Follow all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines as outlined by WCHHS
- Maintain high standard of customer service
- Alert LHP immediately if a compromised client is present. Perform CPR as indicated
- Assist with cleaning and packaging instruments, and with running, cleaning, and monitoring autoclave
- May be cross-trained to cover other work areas

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- CPR, CMA Certificate; successful completion of a medical assistant training program through an accredited school recognized by the United States Department Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or equivalent medical assistant certification through on the job training and preceptorship by a RN and successful completion of the certification exam.
- Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
- Experience with processing medical referrals
- Experience working with Family Planning, Pre-natal, Child Health, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and providing immunizations
- Experience translating Spanish to English in a medical or healthcare

Hiring Range: 19.46 - 23.75 Commensurate with experience
Market Range: 19.46 - 29.91
